Walking through the gardens at Warblers Retreat is like walking into different garden rooms, each one different in its own way, all brought together by the frequent use of bamboo screening giving that sub-tropical look and feeling of complete privacy.

The landscape design incorporates beautiful large Northland boulder rocks that have been carefully placed to show off their shape and form.  Natural stone walls provide for much of the structure within the garden, creating the perfect accompaniment to the largely native and sub-tropical plantings.  The stonework provides an excellent backdrop for the young fruit trees, even the vegetable garden is enclosed by stone walls.

The extensive use of wood, stone and pebble throughout the gardens provide a wonderful backdrop for the plantings.  Hedges of lavender, camelia, buxus, corokia and others create borders or backdrops to selected gardens.

We encourage our guests to wander around our gardens and to enjoy at their own leisure.

The landscaping and gardens have been proudly created by Sustainable Landscapes.
